Gaucho

Birmingham

Conceptualise

Winner of the 2017 r200 ‘Most Effective Restaurant Design’, this fit out in a new mixed-use development behind a Grade I listed façade was the first new Gaucho Restaurant to open in the UK in the last 8 years.

We were appointed to collaborate on the design with Conceptualise, as well as Project and Cost Managing, including the Procurement of all fixtures and fittings. CTC were involved from the pre-acquisition stage to review the landlord’s technical information, agree the demise and monitor the developers progress.  Once we had produced a full and detailed drawing package we had the works priced and managed the project from start to operational handover.

The interior style for this site evolved from the previous refurbishments of the Piccadilly and Broadgate restaurants where inspiration had been taken from the ombu trees in Argentina with their soft grey colours, sculptural, swirling branches, roots and striking leaves. We installed central ‘trees’ with feature criss-crossing curves of pale carved wood and bespoke artwork to replicate the image of the ombu leaf.
